Alkalinity Produces Healthy Cells To Ward Off Cancer
Making sure your cells maintain an optimal pH balance is an important part of staying healthy and fighting off degenerative diseases such as cancer.
The body’s pH balance has to do with its levels of acidity and alkalinity. Cells with a high level of acidity create an environment for diseases such as cancer to thrive. Acid is produced in the body by stress and the consumption of acid-forming foods such as sugar, white rice, white bread, white pasta and an excess of red meat, caffeine and processed foods.
Natural foods, including fruits and vegetables, especially greens, are alkaline; which means they help keep acidity levels down and oxygen levels up, leading to better health and a more robust immune systems.
Maintaining the pH level is especially important to preventing cancer. Cancer cells, unlike healthy cells, function without oxygen and can’t survive in cells with high levels of oxygen. This discovery was initially made by Dr. Otto Warburg, in 1931, which earned him the Nobel Prize.
Basic Facts:
What is ph Balance? The pH abbreviation stands for potential hydrogen. The pH level is a measure of a substance’s concentration of hydrogen-ion. A higher pH means more alkaline and oxygen rich, a low pH means more acidity and less oxygen.
Why is it important? The human body is healthiest when its pH level is slightly alkaline. If a body’s pH level is too acidic, it has trouble assimilating vitamins, minerals and food supplements, which can impede the immune system from functioning at its highest level and preventing diseases like cancer.
What are alkaline foods? Fruits and vegetables are the most alkalizing foods there are. Super Green foods, like those that make up each bottle of Cell-nique, are especially alkaline, along with a wealth of other health benefits, too. Fruits and veggies are low in calories with a lot of fiber. They are packed with vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients.
What are acidic foods? Many popular foods that contain preservatives and high amounts of processed sugars increase acidity levels in the body. Drinks can be particularly acid forming; soda, coffee and beer all have very high levels of acidity. Consuming these beverages on a regular basis has a higher probability of creating health problems associated with high levels of acidity and disease.
Adding nutrient and oxygen rich foods every day leads to a happier and healthier body.

Alkaline Diet
Click here for the downloadable version The Alkaline Diet From Cathy Wong, N.D.,Your Guide to Alternative Medicine, About.com Essentially, the alkaline diet is opposite the high protein, high fat, low carb diets that are currently in vogue. Most people have never heard of alkaline-acid balance, but many holistic doctors and nutritionists consider a properly balanced diet to be important to optimal health and preventing diseases such as cancer. The theory behind an alkaline diet is that because our body's pH level is slightly alkaline, with a normal range of 7.36 to 7.44, our diet should reflect this and also be slightly alkaline. An imbalanced diet high in acidic foods such as animal protein, sugar, caffeine, and processed foods tends to disrupt this balance. It can deplete the body of alkaline minerals such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium, making people prone to chronic and degenerative disease. Thorough scientific studies are lacking on the alkaline diet. Many conventional doctors do not believe in the alkaline diet. Who is this diet for? This diet is for people who feel unwell on a high fat, low carb diet. It is also for people lead stressful lives and who consume large amounts of acidifying foods such as protein, sugar, processed food, cereals, starches, and caffeine, with little alkalinizing vegetables.
